via David Hirshfeld, Esq. – – – Physician Payment Sunshine Act Final Rule is expected to appear in the February 8th Federal Register. In pertinent part, this law requires medical device manufacturers to disclose payments made to non-employee physicians. The provisions of the rule will be effective sometime around April 8th, with a mandated compliance date of August 1 for manufacturers and applicable group purchasing organizations to begin collecting required data, and a date of March 31, 2014, for the reporting of the data to CMS/Medicare.
